Mole Valley District Council’s Development Control Committee has recommended that the application for green waste processing at Swires Farm should be rejected. The application will be decided at Surrey County Council’s Planning Committee on 8 January.
Speaking in the debate, Liberal Democrat Councillor, Valerie Homewood (Beare Green), said, “Henfold Lane is narrow. It’s got a narrow railway bridge across it. It’s got bends like slaloms and it’s terribly unsuitable for this kind of development.”
The Planning Officer’s report said that the proposal “constituted inappropriate development in the Green Belt and that the applicant has failed to demonstrate that there are sufficient very special circumstances to justify the harm.”
