New sites are being included in Mole Valley’s Green Belt Review. Formal consultation is expected to start on these sites on Monday 9 June and will run until 21 July. So if you have views it’s important you act quickly and let the Council know what you think.
The most significant addition is a site to the south and west of Beare Green going right down to the A29. There is a proposal for 400 houses and a new school to replace the Weald, with an alternative option at the same location for 200 new houses. If either is allowed, it would clearly have a major effect on Beare Green and on the local landscape.
The other sites proposed in the local area are:
Hurst, Vicarage Lane, Capel (8 houses)
Horley Road, Charlwood (12 houses)
Rear of 3 Acres, Reigate Road Hookwood (30 houses)
Rear of Barn Cottage, Reigate Road, Hookwood (40 houses)
The consultation document has not yet been published by the Council but you can find details of the sites here.
Capel Parish Council is meeting tomorrow (Monday) at 7.30pm in Capel Village Hall. The Beare Green and Capel sites will be on the agenda and there will be an opportunity for the public to give comments.Leave a comment
